Our client's passion for historic preservation and a desire to share the knowledge gleaned from restoring an 1893 Victorian farmhouse led to a decision to open a hardware store that sells hard-to-find antique pieces and finely crafted reproductions housed in an old-fashioned yet unique and opulent setting. In addition, the client envisioned a third-place gathering space where designers, homeowners, craftspeople, contractors, and architects share their knowledge and passion for old-house restoration with the community.
Based on our client’s vision, Gaslight Interiors created Restoration Palace LTD, a new concept in high-end boutique retail design. Taking inspiration from London’s 1851 Crystal Palace at The Great Exhibition, Restoration Palace aims to make our client’s one-of-a-kind merchandise sparkle like jewelry and, most importantly, sell. The space is designed to blend with any old town or historic main street across the United States.
Our client envisioned a brand that would feature a flagship main location as well as satellite and pop-up stores, using the same architectural and ornamental elements that symbolize the Restoration Palace aesthetic.
